NSW Government’s Transport Access Program – Station Upgrade 2
Australia

Project Overview

The Transport Access Program is an initiative of the NSW Government to provide better experiences for users of public transport by delivering accessible, modern, secure and integrated transport infrastructure. Major accessibility upgrades were delivered under this program to four stations across the rail network – Flemington, Heathcote, Penrith and Wentworth Falls. Improvements include new lifts, concourse bridges, walkways, staircases,

canopies, platform modifications and improved lighting and train notification systems.

TBH’s Role

TBH was engaged by Laing O’Rourke as a key part of their Design & Construct contract, to provide Project Planning and Scheduling services for each of the four stations. TBH prepared the preliminary foundations for the detailed planning of the upgrade works at each of the four stations. We also worked intensively on developing all programme development scheduling, and developed reporting structures as part of Laing O’Rourke’s team, which were presented directly to TfNSW.

TBH worked closely with the Laing O’Rourke project team to plan the content for each Possession, as well as planning the detailed sequence for each Possession, including pre- Possession works and contingency plans. TBH in attendance for the process to actively upgrade the programme every two hours during those Possessions.
