Nokia Telenor One Asia

Asia

Project Overview

Nokia was engaged by Telenor to transition its mobile communications services and applications to a Cloud based platform. This work was carried out in five different countries in Asia – Thailand, Myanmar, Malaysia, Bangladesh and Pakistan.

TBH’s Role

TBH assisted Nokia Software (NSW) with developing baseline schedules for four of the five Asian countries where transition works were undertaken. This included resource and cost forecasting for the project lifecycle.

The schedules prepared included the NSW scope of works, as the works were part of a greater programme of works involving other business groups.

The schedules identified key dependencies and milestones within the business and across the various business groups.

The resource and cost forecasts prepared assisted NSW with planning and onboarding the required staffing levels to service the works. In addition, through the programmes, potential cost saving opportunities for the project were also identified.

The TBH Difference

The schedules developed by TBH were used as an integral tool in helping NSW determine key project dates, such as interface dates between business groups. In addition, it allowed NSW Project Managers to accurately forecast required resourcing levels to service the work.

Following the development of the project resourcing plans, TBH assisted with the development of tools for the Project Managers to implement cost saving measures and identify resource optimisation opportunities. Resource optimisation was an important achievement, as most of the key resources were shared across four countries.
